Vaaii introduces two kinds of people to each other: travellers who already have a trip booked and some spare room in their luggage, and senders who need something taken across a border. You find each other, agree the details directly, and arrange the handover yourselves.

Vaaii is free to use and we take no commission on anything you agree between yourselves. If that ever changes we will tell you in advance, and you would be free to stop using it. Whatever a sender pays a traveller is agreed between the two of you and never passes through us.

You can read everything about how Vaaii works without an account. Actual routes are visible to members only, because a listing carries somebody's travel dates and city pair, and that is not information to publish to strangers. Signing up takes about a minute.

It carries real risk, and we would rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise. Vaaii does not vet members, inspect parcels, verify identity documents or check what is inside anything. Treat it the way you would treat meeting anyone from the internet: meet somewhere public, agree everything in writing between yourselves first, and never accept a sealed item you have not seen packed.

That sits between you and the other member. Vaaii is not a courier, not an insurer and not a party to your arrangement, so we cannot compensate for a lost or damaged item. If an item matters, agree in writing what happens if it goes missing, and consider whether it should travel this way at all.

No. Accounts are created with an email address or a Google sign-in, and we do not ask for identity documents. That keeps signing up easy, and it also means you should not treat an account as proof of anything. Judge people by how they communicate and what they are willing to agree in writing.

Yes, and please do. Use the contact page with the route and roughly when it happened. We can suspend or close accounts that break the rules, and we would rather hear about a problem early than find out from a pattern of complaints.

Never drugs or controlled substances, weapons of any kind including replicas and knives intended as weapons, explosives or fireworks, live animals, human remains, counterfeit goods, stolen property, or anything illegal to hold or move in either country. Cash, and anything a traveller cannot honestly describe at customs, are also a bad idea. The full list is in our Terms.

The person carrying the bag. A traveller declares what they are carrying and is answerable for it, which is exactly why you should never accept a parcel you have not seen packed and cannot describe accurately. Duties and taxes are for you and the other member to sort out between you; Vaaii is not a customs agent and cannot advise on it.

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on the medicine and the two countries involved. Many prescription drugs cannot be carried across borders by a third party at all, and some over-the-counter items in one country are controlled in another. Check the rules for both countries before you agree anything, and never carry medication you cannot describe.

Open the listing and use the contact button. Your message reaches them by email and they can reply directly to you. Neither address is shown on the site, so nobody sees your email until one of you decides to answer.

Until the date on it passes. A trip is archived the day after departure and a sender's window the day after it closes, so nobody messages you about a trip you have already taken. You can archive a listing early from My Account, and archived listings are removed after three months.

Yes. The site works on any phone browser, and you can add it to your home screen as an app. The app also lets you turn on notifications, so you hear straight away when somebody messages you about a listing instead of waiting to check email.

Ask us through the contact page and we will erase it, along with your listings. Under the GDPR you have the right to have your data deleted, corrected or sent to you, and we will act on that within a month.
